Build and maintain backend services for customer accounts and money movement
Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers, and payments. Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation to production, with unit and integration tests. Follow the rules of money handling: exact amounts, idempotent requests, clear transaction states, and audit trails. Help with integrations with banks and payment partners, and with daily batch and reconciliation jobs.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers, and payments
- Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation to production, with unit and integration tests
- Follow the rules of money handling: exact amounts, idempotent requests, clear transaction states, and audit trails
- Help with integrations with banks and payment partners, and with daily batch and reconciliation jobs
- Take part in code reviews, both receiving and giving feedback, and learn from them
- Investigate bugs and production issues with help from senior engineers, and fix them with tests that prevent them from coming back
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional backend engineering, including working on services in production
- Solid in Java, Go or another modern backend language
- Good understanding of REST APIs, relational databases and SQL, and basic concurrency
- Working knowledge of transactions, and exposure to caching (Redis) and messaging (Kafka)
