The Role Your role We are seeking a skilled DB2/DATACOM professional to support enterprise database environments across development, testing, and production platforms. The role combines database administration, systems programming support, performance tuning, and platform optimization. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain DB2 and/or DATACOM environments. Monitor database performance and availability. Perform database upgrades and maintenance. Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes. Implement database security controls. Resolve database-related incidents and performance issues. Support application teams with database design and optimization. Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis. Create and maintain database standards and documentation. Who You Are Required Experience 5-10+ years of database administration experience. Strong DB2 for z/OS experience. Experience supporting mission-critical databases. Technical Skills DB2 DB2 for z/OS administration. DB2 utilities. SQL performance tuning. Database recovery. DB2 installation and migration. DB2 security. DATACOM Broadcom DATACOM administration. Database maintenance utilities. Database performance monitoring. General z/OS. JCL. TSO/ISPF. REXX. SMP/E. Problem determination and root cause analysis. Preferred Skills IDMS exposure CICS integration. IMS exposure. Data replication technologies. Automation scripting. Qualifications Relevant IT qualification. IBM DB2 certifications advantageous.
