Remote Interim Accounting Manager

Irvine, California (United States) A growing and dynamic organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support the finance team during a critical period of growth and process enhancement. This is a fully remote contract opportunity expected to last 6-8 months, with the potential for extension based on business needs. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys improving processes, and has strong experience managing the close process within NetSuite. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure financial reporting accuracy, and partner cross-functionally to support organizational goals. Responsibilities Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Oversee general ledger activities and ensure compliance with GAAP Manage balance sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies Support financial statement preparation and management reporting Partner with external auditors and assist with audit requests Improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows to support scalability Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and leadership teams on ad hoc projects Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff as needed Assist with system enhancements and reporting improvements within NetSuite Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management-level responsibilities Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes Advanced experience with NetSuite ERP required Experience in a high-growth or rapidly evolving environment preferred Strong understanding of reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis Preferred Experience Multi-entity and intercompany accounting Audit support and external audit coordination Process improvement and system optimization initiatives Public accounting background and/or CPA designation Why Consider This Opportunity?
