EMCD is a leading technology company in the crypto industry, best known as the largest mining pool in Eastern Europe. We are building a multi-product ecosystem across mining, wallets, earn products, B2B infrastructure and other digital-asset services, operating through multiple legal entities and jurisdictions with products at different stages of maturity and regulation. We are looking for a Head of Compliance to lead the compliance function across EMCD 's international crypto ecosystem. The role combines regulatory strategy, operational compliance and business partnership. You will support multiple products and legal entities across different jurisdictions, helping the business scale while keeping regulatory and financial-crime risk clear and manageable. Key Responsibilities: Own the group-level compliance framework across EMCD products and legal entities. Lead AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule, and customer/counterparty risk controls. Define regulatory and licensing strategy across existing and new markets. Support new product launches and market entry by identifying regulatory risks and designing workable compliance structures. Lead interactions with regulators, banks, payment providers, external counsel and other financial partners. Oversee regulatory audits, inspections, reporting, remediation and ongoing compliance obligations. Assess complex or high-risk cases and provide clear, risk-based recommendations to the business. Build scalable compliance processes that support growth without unnecessary operational friction. Lead and develop the existing compliance team and own the function's overall results. Work closely with the CEO, Legal, Product, Finance and business leaders. Requirements: Senior compliance leadership experience in crypto, fintech, payments, banking or another regulated financial environment. Strong practical knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring and financial-crime risk. Hands-on experience with regulatory licensing and working directly with regulators across multiple jurisdictions. Experience assessing new products, markets and business models from a regulatory and compliance perspective. Strong understanding of crypto-specific risks, including wallets, custody, transaction flows, Travel Rule and high-risk jurisdictions. Experience working with banks, payment providers and other regulated counterparties. Proven ability to balance business enablement with risk management, proposing alternatives rather than only identifying restrictions. Strong ownership and decision-making skills. Experience leading and developing a compliance team. Big plus: Hands-on experience obtaining a VASP license/registration in Argentina (PSAV registration with the CNV). Key Challenge: Help EMCD grow across products and jurisdictions without either blocking the business unnecessarily or allowing unmanaged risk. The successful candidate is commercially minded, pragmatic and creative, while holding clear red lines and strong compliance standards. What We Offer: A senior leadership role with direct impact on how EMCD scales across products and jurisdictions. High ownership and autonomy in shaping the compliance function, frameworks, priorities and ways of working. Close collaboration with the CEO and senior leaders across Legal, Product, Finance and business teams. Remote-first company — work from anywhere in the world. Extended time off: 20 paid vacation days + 12 additional paid days off per year. 100% paid sick leave. Apply today and help us build the future of crypto! Originally posted on Himalayas
