Original description from Recruitee

Novakid is a fast-growing online English school for children aged 4–12 and a Learning Games Company with international investors and global ambitions. Since 2017 we've grown to 4,000+ teachers working with kids in 50+ countries, delivering 4.9 million lessons every year. We're looking for an experienced Game Designer to become an ambassador of fun for kids, create educational games and systems that can compete with Roblox and Brawl Stars for kids' attention. Your job is to make kids want to come back, and to build the systems that keep them coming back. You will… Lead game design in a small cross-functional team building an educational game for kids. Design core loops and moment-to-moment gameplay that are fun first and teach along the way. Own features end to end, from concept to release and post-launch iteration, and be accountable for retention and engagement metrics. Design onboarding and first sessions that hook players and drive early retention. Design and balance the game economy: currencies, sources and sinks, reward curves and progression pacing. Plan live-ops: seasons, events, recurring loops and a sustainable content cadence. Write build-ready GDDs, product specs and flows independently, detailed enough for developers, artists and designers to execute without back-and-forth. Define success metrics before launch, predict feature impact, and read the results with the PM and analysts. Work with the Product Manager on the roadmap and propose features that target specific metrics. Make sure educational goals are met through gameplay by collaborating with academic experts. Use AI tools to move faster, including prompting, voice features (TTS / speech-to-speech) and rapid prototyping. Run and learn from playtests: propose hypotheses for UX research, deconstruct competitors, and turn insights into gameplay improvements. Must have 3+ years as a Generalist Game Designer, preferably in F2P mobile, with a strong sense of fun and a focus on retention, engagement and onboarding. Hands-on economy design experience: currency sources and sinks, reward curves and balancing. Ability to write GDDs, product specs and flows independently at build-ready detail. Analytics fluency: you know the core F2P metrics, can form hypotheses about a feature's impact, and can read the data after launch. Excellent English (B2+ minimum), as all meetings and documentation are in English. Strong advantage Live-ops experience: seasons, events, recurring loops and content cadence. Experience with EdTech or kids' products. AI fluency: strong prompting skills, experience with TTS or speech-to-speech, and using AI for rapid prototyping. Join us… High autonomy within a cross-functional team of senior specialists from mobile gaming and EdTech. The chance to create holistic game experiences and significant features from scratch. Internal playtesting and UX research support to back your decisions. A product with proven market success and a global user base. Tangible impact: games that positively influence children's lives worldwide. If you're a creative, data-driven game designer who knows how to make things fun, and you're excited about educational games, we'd love to hear from you! We offer… Competitive remuneration Remote work Unlimited holidays Bonuses and stock options
