In this role, you'll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you'll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe's core data. What you will do Maintain Performance • Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance. Debug and Test • Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running. Develop for the Future • Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you'll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services. Who You Are Required skills and experience Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects. Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, .Net etc.) with debugging and problem-solving skills. Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software. Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services. Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues. Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns. Preferred skills and experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl. Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices. Java, SpringBoot, Awareness of SOLID, Microservices Architecture, Awareness of AWS Services (EC2, Lambda, S3, APIGateway, SQS, SNS, Cloudwatch, ECS etc), CI CD ((Jenkins / Gitlab)) pipelines, SQL, noSQL (Mongo/ DynamoDB), Awareness of Security (Spring and AWS IAM), Design patterns, HLD, LLD, Team co-ordination, leading a team, System documentation, Agile, Terraform, Node Js, React Js Being You The "Kyn" in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
