The Role Your Role: As a Microsoft SQL Server Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, deployment, maintenance, and security of SQL Server databases within an enterprise environment. You will safeguard the high availability, data integrity, and peak performance of mission-critical systems through continuous database monitoring, proactive tuning, and robust disaster recovery planning, ensuring uninterrupted support for core business operations. What you will do: Manage SQL Server Instances: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across Development, Test, and Production environments, including managing database objects, schemas, and configurations. Execute Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and perform database upgrades, migrations, and regular patching activities to keep systems secure and up to date. Optimize Database Performance: Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, tune queries and indexes, and perform capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure high stability. Implement HA/DR Solutions: Design and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies while implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Always On, clustering, replication, and log shipping. Provide 24/7 Production Support: Troubleshoot complex database issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), manage production incidents to meet SLAs, and participate in on-call rotations. Enforce Database Security: Implement and maintain security policies, user roles, access controls, encryption, and auditing to ensure strict compliance with security standards. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, infrastructure, and application support teams to assist with deployments, release management, and application performance tuning. Drive Standards and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior DBAs, create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams, and enforce best practices. Performance tuning and diagnostics. Windows Server environment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in 24×7 production support environment. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Master Degree & any relevant certification.
