Senior Product Designer, Web Tools

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Web Experience Design team and help shape the next generation of AI-powered experiences on Toast's marketing website — from intelligent chatbots to personalized visitor journeys.</p> <p>As a Senior Product Designer on our Web Experience Design team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Web Experience Design, you'll design customer-facing AI features that help prospects find the right information faster, get their questions answered, and feel a more tailored connection to Toast throughout their journey. You'll partner closely with Web Strategy, Web Engineering, Marketing, and our AI/ML partners to bring these experiences to life.<br><br></p> <p><strong>A day in the life (Responsibilities):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and iterate on AI-powered features embedded in Toast's website, including chatbots, conversational interfaces, and dynamic personalization experiences.</li> <li>Translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, human-centered interactions that feel natural and build trust with prospects.</li> <li>Partner with Engineering and AI/ML teams to understand model capabilities and constraints, and design within them.</li> <li>Design personalization logic and experiences that adapt content, messaging, or layout based on visitor behavior, segment, or intent.</li> <li>Prototype and test AI-driven concepts, using data and user feedback to refine interaction patterns pre- and post-launch.</li> <li>Collaborate with Web Strategy and Marketing stakeholders to ensure AI experiences align with campaign goals, brand voice, and business priorities.</li> <li>Contribute to and help evolve design patterns and guidelines for AI-enabled experiences across the web ecosystem.</li> <li>Clearly communicate design rationale, prototypes, and outcomes to your manager and cross-functional partners.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you'll need to thrive (Requirements):</strong></p> <ul> <li>4+ years of relevant product or web design experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.</li> <li>Exposure to designing for or with AI-powered features (chatbots, recommendation systems, generative content, personalization engines, etc.) — or strong enthusiasm and aptitude to grow into it.</li> <li>Solid foundation in UI/UX principles, including interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility.</li> <li>Comfort designing within real-world technical constraints and working closely with engineers to bring ideas to life.</li> <li>A portfolio that shows thoughtful, user-centered problem solving — bonus points for conversational, adaptive, or AI-enabled interfaces.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present design decisions to a range of stakeholders.</li> <li>Ability to work through ambiguity, take feedback well, and iterate quickly.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Nice to have's:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Are genuinely curious about AI and excited to explore what's possible in this space.</li> <li>Like solving real human problems with emerging technology, not just chasing what's trendy.</li> <li>Are comfortable taking a project from early exploration through to polished, shipped execution.</li> <li>Enjoy close collaboration with engineers, PMs, and marketers to bring ideas to life.</li> <li>Take ownership proactively, while welcoming direction on newer or more ambiguous projects.</li> <li>Are deeply passionate about Toast's mission and excited to contribute to its growth.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">&nbsp;</p> <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []"><strong>AI at Toast</strong></p> <p>At Toast, one of our company values is that we're hungry to build and learn.
