Our mission is ambitious and we can’t do it alone - join Abacum as we build the future of Business Planning! ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT We are a finance company building for finance teams. That makes our own Finance function especially important. We do not run Finance as a back-office reporting layer. Finance is embedded in strategy and should set the benchmark for how a modern finance team operates. ABOUT THE ROLE We have two core pillars: - Build a Finance function that becomes a benchmark for the market. - Work closely with the founders on strategy, board/investor conversations, and future fundraising/financing workstreams. This is a Lead role, but we are hands-on at every level. From entry-level to C-level, everyone owns projects, sets a high bar, and delivers. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS - Finance at Abacum sits at the core of company strategy. - Our founders are former CFOs. Our customers are finance leaders. Our product is used by finance teams. The way we run Finance internally needs to be excellent. - Our Finance function is lean, automated, AI-enabled, and built to operate at the frontier of innovation. We do not want a function that spends its time manually rebuilding reports or chasing numbers across disconnected systems. WHAT YOU’LL OWN - Strategic finance and company performance: own the model, forecast, SaaS metrics, and business insights that shape how leadership understands what is working, what is not, and where we should focus. - Fundraising, board, and investor work: own future fundraising, investor report data room, diligence, and financing scenarios. - Scaling the Finance function: build a Finance function that is automated, AI-enabled, deeply connected across the tech stack, and the reference for the finance teams we sell to. - Cash, OPEX, and financial discipline: own visibility on cash, runway, collections, OPEX, and department-level spend so leaders can make better decisions without slowing the company down (a business partner across the organization). WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR You set the bar high, you are committed, and you build a Finance function that becomes a market benchmark. - 6 to 10 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, BizOps, or finance roles in high-growth companies, ideally B2B SaaS. - Strong financial modeling, forecasting, SaaS metrics, KPI reporting, and board/investor reporting experience. - Strategic judgment. You know what matters, what is noise, and how to turn numbers into decisions. - High ownership and hands-on execution. You want to build, not only advise. - Strong systems and AI mindset. You do not accept manual work as the default.
