If you're passionate about AI and making an impact on the health of others, join us and make it happen!</p></div><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p>We're on the lookout for a remote drug and alcohol counselor to join the leading digital clinic for substance addictions. As a key member of our counseling team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey to overcome substance addictions. Your main objective will be guiding members towards leading addiction-free lives! Collaborating closely with our dynamic team, you'll contribute to the rapid growth of our business, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in scaling up a successful venture.</p> <p>This is a full-time, remote position with flexible working hours, open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.</p> <p><strong>In this role you will:</strong></p> <p><br>- Provide counseling to members on a weekly basis through text-based chat, video calls, and phone calls, to monitor their progress on their recovery journey<br>- Onboard the users with an initial phone call and complete a multidimensional assessment to gather relevant behavioral health history and symptoms<br>- Work within Atlas, Pelago's AI-native EHR, which automates session documentation, surfaces real-time evidence-based guidance during calls, and prepares clinical context before each session — so your time stays focused on member care, not administrative lift<br>- Monitor the progress of members and offer therapeutic strategies on how to deal with temptations and cravings<br>- Be supportive and encouraging to members to help them establish and sustain motivation to change their substance use<br>- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a positive experience for all members and provide valuable feedback to the product development team<br>- Uphold good standing with your active license(s)/certification(s)<br>- Attend team meetings and/or case discussions as scheduled<br>- Help someone transform their life and the life of their family through their addiction recovery!</p> <p><strong>The background we are looking for:</strong></p> <p><br>- Active Massachusetts credential in good standing<br>- Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker<br>- Bachelors Degree required<br>- 2+ years of clinical experience delivering CBT and/or behavioral support for substance use disorders (tobacco, alcohol, opioids)<br>- Comfort working in an AI-augmented care environment; openness to adopting AI-assisted tools that support documentation, member communication, and clinical decision-making<br>- Proficient with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), MAT coordination, and Relapse Prevention<br>- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary healthcare teams (coaches, physicians, nurses)<br>- Excellent written and verbal communication skills<br>- Adaptable in fast-moving environments; able to prioritize competing demands<br>- Technologically fluent; quick to learn new tools and platforms<br>- Preferred: Prior telehealth experience across multiple time zones and/or digital health settings</p> <p><strong>What you’ll love about us:</strong></p> <p>We have a whole host of perks for our people!
