Translate and proofread FGM/C reports into Farsi for global advocacy
Translate and proofread two reports totaling 12,000 words on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, criminal law terminology, and international conventions from English to Farsi. The work supports Orchid Project’s mission to end FGM/C by equipping local organizations with advocacy tools. Volunteers will work in pairs over five weeks, coordinating via email with Orchid Project management.

Key Responsibilities
- Translate a 5,000-word report on FGM/C and international conventions into Farsi
- Translate a 7,000-word report on criminal law terminology related to FGM/C into Farsi
- Proofread both translated reports for accuracy and legal terminology consistency
- Collaborate with a translation partner to ensure quality and coherence
- Communicate progress and questions via email with Orchid Project coordinators
Requirements
- Native-level Farsi proficiency
- Fluent English language skills
- Proven experience in English-to-Farsi translation
- Expertise in International Law, FGM/C, Women’s Health, Gender, or Human Rights
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, especially criminal law
