Requirements
- 3+ years of property damage or injury liability claim-handling experience
- Background handling litigated and attorney-represented files
- Solid working knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication in plain English
- Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office

You'll join our Claims team, bringing sharp investigative instincts and real empathy to every file you touch, moving cases forward with speed and care in equal measure. In this role you'll - Investigate and process injury claims end-to-end, in line with company policy and applicable state or federal law - Gather and evaluate police reports, medical records, and witness statements to build a clear picture of each loss - Interview claimants, witnesses, medical providers, and other parties to determine liability and claim legitimacy - Determine claim value and negotiate settlements that are fair, defensible, and timely - Keep detailed, accurate records of all claim activity throughout the lifecycle of each file - Collaborate with legal counsel and cross-functional teams when cases require it - Communicate claim status and decisions to all relevant parties — clearly, professionally, and with genuine empathy What you'll need - 3+ years of property damage or injury liability claim-handling experience - A background handling litigated and attorney-represented files — a strong advantage - Solid working knowledge of insurance laws and regulations - Strong analytical thinking and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure - Clear, confident written and verbal communication — no jargon, just plain English - Comfortable working independently and collaboratively depending on what the file needs - Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office - A college degree - Lemonade expects all advocates to hold and maintain a license in good standing — if you don't have one yet, we'll work with you to get licensed within your first three months - Ability to work in a remote environment *Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas. Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 - $72,000 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our competitive total rewards package includes comprehensive health & wellness coverage, equity, a 401(k) plan with employer match, 20 paid vacation days, and parental leave.
