WHAT YOU'RE APPLYING FOR We're looking for a Car Claims Advocate to help us handle high-value bodily injury claims with the care, rigor, and empathy they deserve. You'll join our Car Claims team as a specialist in injury claims — someone who knows how to move fast without cutting corners, and who can guide customers through some of their most stressful moments with clarity and confidence. IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL - Investigate and process injury claims end-to-end, making sure every decision holds up to both policy standards and state or federal law - Gather and evaluate police reports, medical records, and witness statements to build a clear, accurate picture of each claim - Interview claimants, witnesses, and medical providers to assess legitimacy and determine liability - Set appropriate claim values and negotiate settlements that are fair, defensible, and efficient - Collaborate with legal counsel and internal teams when claims escalate — keeping everyone aligned and moving forward - Communicate status and outcomes to all parties with professionalism and genuine empathy - Stay sharp on industry trends, evolving regulations, and medical terminology so your judgment stays current WHAT YOU'LL NEED - 4+ years of injury liability claim-handling experience - A background managing litigated and attorney-represented files — a strong advantage - Solid knowledge of insurance laws and regulations - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect dots across complex files - Clear, confident written and verbal communication — no jargon, no runaround - Comfort working independently while staying closely connected to a collaborative team - Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office - A genuine curiosity about technology, and the adaptability to grow with new tools as they evolve - Empathy, patience, and a positive presence — especially when customers need it most - A college degree - Ready to work in a remote environment Lemonade expects all advocates to hold and maintain a license in good standing. If you don't have one yet, we'll support you in getting licensed within your first 3 months. *Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants from these states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Hawaii, New Mexico and Puerto Rico.* Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $72,000 - $94,500 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our competitive total rewards package includes comprehensive health & wellness coverage, equity, a 401(k) plan with employer match, 20 paid vacation days, and parental leave.
