1. Mission As Driving CPO, you are accountable for maximizing product value in the Driving domain (ADAS/Automated Driving) by defining and leading the product strategy end-to-end — from customer value and system requirements to product release. You act as the central interface between customer, business, and engineering to ensure a competitive, scalable, and high-quality product. 2. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Vision Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for Driving features (e.g., highway assist, urban driving) Ensure alignment with overall ADAS portfolio and business targets End-to-End Product Ownership (E2E) Take full responsibility for the Driving product scope across system and software integration Own and approve top-level system requirements and product scope Ensure consistency across all contributing streams (Perception, Fusion, Planning, Vehicle Integration) Drive system engineering and requirement definition across domains Product Backlog & Agile Leadership Own and prioritize the product backlog (features, epics, requirements) Define priorities based on customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact Guide development teams by ensuring clear backlog readiness and acceptance criteria Accept or reject delivered increments based on defined Definition of Done Stakeholder Management Act as primary interface towards OEM customers for product-related topics Align with Program Management, Technical Project Managers, System Architects, and other CPOs Coordinate across multiple CPO roles within Driving (e.g., Safety, Comfort legacy functions) Release & Quality Accountability Ensure delivery of product according to scope, timing, and quality targets Make final decisions on release readiness Manage trade-offs between performance, cost, and time-to-market Oversee issue prioritization, change management, and product quality KPIs 3. Interfaces Program Manager / Technical Project Manager System Architect / Safety & Security Engineering teams (SW/HW/System) Other CPOs (Parking, ACP, Hardware etc.) 4. Positioning Driving domain product owner with full E2E accountability Works within Driving stream under Lead CPO setup Integrates multiple functional CPOs to deliver a coherent product 5. Key Deliverables System and product requirement definition Product backlog and prioritization Release scope and decision Customer-facing feature definition and proposal input Technical (WANT) ADAS / Automated Driving systems (Perception, Planning, Vehicle Control) Experience in system engineering, requirement management, and architecture Familiarity with Agile development and ASPICE Japanese language Leadership & Business Strong product ownership mindset with focus on customer value Cross-functional leadership in global, multi-company setup Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills Strategic thinking and decision-making under uncertainty Lead people globally (different cultural background, not directly visible), in different domains (R&D, plant, purchasing,…) with different expertise of different managerial levels (up to General Manager)
