Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and Continuous Maintenance System (CMS) for assigned vessels
  • Organize and oversee repairs for vessel equipment including deck, engine, electrical, navigation, and cargo gear
  • Conduct detailed onboard inspections at least once every three months to verify safety, navigation, and machinery operation compliance
  • Report ship performance data accurately to the Ship Manager and verify logged parameters for correctness
  • Prepare dry dock repair specifications and maintenance activity plans for budgeting and operational planning

Requirements

  • Experience with Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and Continuous Maintenance System (CMS)
  • Knowledge of flag and port state requirements for vessel operations
  • Understanding of manufacturer operating instructions and prudent engineering practices

Position Overview: Responsible for maintenance and repair of the vessels assigned. Ensure the vessels abide by Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Protection Management System Policy (SMS) or any other policy which relate to vessels operation and documentation. Responsibilities : Plan and execute in a timely manner Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and Continuous Maintenance System (CMS) in accordance with agreed procedure and in compliance with flag and port state requirement. Upon request by the Ship Manager or by the vessel, organize repairs to all vessel equipment (deck/ engine/ electrical/ navigation/ cargo gear/ deck). Ensure that the repairs are carried out as per makers operating instructions and prudent engineering practice in order vessel's operation efficiency is not affected but improved. Reporting to the Ship Manager about the ship performance and ensuring the data accuracy. Visit vessel when she calls Surabaya/ home base to ensure progressive maintenance is being carried out and vessel is operating per SMS. At least once in every three months carry out detail inspection on board to ensure procedures regarding safety, proper navigation, operation of machinery are indeed being followed. Verify parameters reported or logged are correct. Making plan of activities for maintenance, repair, and vessel operation needed for budgeting purpose. Prepare dry dock repair specification for work (thorough sailing) that can only be undertaken in addition to the repair list submitted by the vessel. Consult the Ship Manager related performance issues including special work that has to be undertaken to enhance the performance and to comply with company's procedures that include on the specifications. Assist Ship Manager in preparing and approval of docking budget by Management. Submit daily reports to the office on progress and any deviation on time or cost. Monitor performance of personnel on board re competency, attitude and loyalty. Recommend personnel change, promotion and demotion (except Master and Chief Engineer). Carry out evaluation of Master and Chief Engineer and distribute it to all per SMS. Check the requisition from the vessel which is under Superintendent care and monitor the fulfillment requisition from office to vessel. Coordination with SM and Ship Management Insurance Department to prepare all needed document in accident which may lead to claim can be responsible. Evaluate without prejudice on the sub contractors used according to the service provided every six months. The evaluation report should be distributed to person as SMS. Requirements : Specific Education (ATT/ ANT), Minimum ATT II Minimum 2 years sailing as Chief Officer on board Minimum 2 year experience as Technical Superintendent Willing to work on shore Placement in Head Office, Surabaya
