ABOUT SUMMATION Summation is building the AI Operator: decision-grade AI systems that help enterprise finance and operations teams turn fragmented data and manual analysis into continuously improving decisions and workflows. We combine software, analytics, and AI with deep customer collaboration to build systems that run consequential parts of the business. We are early and moving quickly. The people who join now get broad ownership, direct access to customers and company decision-makers, and the ability to turn field learning into the product and operating model of the company. THE ROLE As a Solution Lead at Summation, you will own customer outcomes from discovery through launch, adoption, and expansion. You will develop a deep understanding of how a customer makes consequential financial and operational decisions, turn that understanding into a concrete implementation plan and new operating workflow, and lead the customer and Summation team through delivery. You will be the primary quarterback for the implementation: modeling processes and decisions, working directly with data and analytical tools, making scope and tradeoffs clear, coordinating technical contributors, resolving blockers, and staying accountable until the workflow is used and producing measurable value. You will also turn repeated field learning into product direction, reusable playbooks, and stronger platform capabilities. You will be technically and analytically hands-on, but you do not need to be the deepest engineer on every problem. Success means choosing the right problem, creating forward motion across stakeholders, and ensuring the customer adopts a system that changes how the business operates. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Own enterprise implementations from discovery and planning through launch, adoption, measurable value, and ongoing improvement. - Build a detailed understanding of the customer's financial or operational process, decision rights, users, data, constraints, controls, handoffs, and success measures. - Translate ambiguous problems into concrete models, workflows, product requirements, implementation plans, and explicit tradeoffs. - Work hands-on with SQL, spreadsheets, Python, relational databases, BI and analytical tools, financial and operational models, workflow automation, and AI-assisted prototypes when that accelerates the outcome. - Lead the customer operating cadence: decisions, owners, milestones, risks, next actions, and clear definitions of done. - Coordinate Forward Deployed Engineers, Product, Engineering, and data science contributors without relying on formal people-management authority. - Identify adoption risks and operational-change requirements early, then work directly with customer champions and users to establish a durable new workflow. - Measure whether the implementation is producing the intended business result and adjust the system or process based on evidence. - Turn repeated customer needs and field lessons into product direction, implementation playbooks, reusable platform capabilities, and expansion opportunities. - Build trusted relationships with customer executives, operators, finance teams, and technical stakeholders through clarity, judgment, and follow-through. QUALIFICATIONS - At least 3 years of experience owning implementations, analytical or operational programs, customer delivery, or similarly ambiguous cross-functional work. We care more about repeated evidence of ownership and learning velocity than an exact tenure threshold. - Experience carrying an important initiative from discovery and planning through implementation, adoption, and results. - Strong analytical fluency and willingness to work directly with data and models using tools such as SQL, spreadsheets, BI platforms, workflow automation, and AI-assisted analysis. - Ability to translate between business and technical teams and turn an ambiguous problem into a sequence of concrete decisions and deliverables. - Strong customer judgment: you build trust, communicate tradeoffs clearly, handle difficult moments constructively, and create forward motion. - High agency in an early-stage environment: you create structure where little exists, surface risks before they become escalations, and do the hands-on work necessary to keep delivery moving. - Willingness and interest in traveling approximately 10–20% for customer meetings and team sessions in Bellevue, Washington. This travel is an expected part of the role. Strong candidates may come from implementation or professional services, solutions consulting, technical customer success, analytics or data consulting, business or strategy operations, finance systems, FP&A, enterprise planning, or other backgrounds that combine analytical depth with delivery ownership. HELPFUL, BUT NOT REQUIRED - Experience with finance, accounting, FP&A, enterprise planning, ERP, or operational analytics. - Experience implementing AI-enabled applications, agents, decision systems, or workflow automation in a real business process. - Experience in a startup, consultancy, or lean internal team where responsibilities were broader than the title. - Experience working closely with engineers or data scientists and making good technical tradeoffs without being the primary engineer. - Working familiarity with Python and relational databases. WHY JOIN NOW - Own meaningful customer and business outcomes. - Help customers establish new AI-enabled operating processes. - Work directly with the people building the product and turn field learning into product direction. - Operate with high autonomy and little organizational distance between identifying a problem and fixing it. - Grow quickly through broad customer, analytical, product, and operating responsibility. - Participate meaningfully in the value you help create through equity. WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive salary and equity options - Flexible (Unlimited) Paid Time Off - Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for you and your family - 401(k) Plan - Parental Leave - A collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact our customers and product - Opportunities for growth and career development
