Software Engineer - Solutions Engineering

Build and maintain Ubuntu-based solutions for enterprise customer deployments

As a Software Engineer in Solutions Engineering at Canonical, you will build and maintain Ubuntu-based solutions tailored to enterprise customer needs. You will work directly with customers to deploy, configure, and optimize Ubuntu infrastructure across cloud, data center, and edge environments. Your work ensures reliable, scalable open-source deployments that meet specific business requirements.

Design and implement Ubuntu-based solutions for customer infrastructure needs

Provide technical guidance and support during customer solution rollout
Document solution architectures and best practices for internal and external use

Requirements

Strong experience with Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or OpenStack
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of networking, storage, and system administration
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
