Build scalable backend features for a multiplayer game SDK

As a Senior SWE Backend at Normal, you will build and scale backend features for Normcore.io, an autoscaling game server hosting service and Unity plugin used by over 100,000 developers. You’ll work on SDKs and tools for multiplayer game development, contributing to a codebase that has hosted over 1 billion multiplayer games. The role involves full ownership of features in a small, remote-first team of ex-Unity/Google engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and scale backend systems for the Normcore.io game server hosting platform
  • Build and maintain SDKs and tools for multiplayer game development in Unity

  • Own full feature delivery from design to production in a remote, collaborative team

Requirements

  • Strong backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience with Postgres and scalable database design
