Senior Java Backend Engineer
Design and develop scalable gaming backend systems and APIs
As a Senior Java Backend Engineer at Veri, you will design and develop scalable backend systems, distributed services, and APIs for gaming platforms. You will maintain CI/CD pipelines, write unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and optimize system architecture. The role emphasizes collaborative pair programming and continuous technical improvement in a remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems and distributed services
- Develop and maintain APIs and third-party integrations for gaming platforms
- Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployment
- Perform code reviews and optimize system architecture and performance
- Collaborate with team members through pair programming to solve complex challenges
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Java backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java, Shell Script, and Spring Framework
- Familiarity with Redis, ELK stack, and SQL normalization
- Experience with design patterns and distributed system design
- Ability to read and understand English technical documentation
- Comfortable working in a pair programming environment
