Senior Database Administrator

Execute Oracle database migrations to ensure production cutover success

Support critical database transformation, migration, high availability, and disaster recovery initiatives. Execute Oracle database migrations using RMAN, Data Pump, and Transportable Tablespaces. Administer mission-critical environments based on Oracle RAC and Data Guard, including DR testing and production cutovers. Provide operational support across complex enterprise environments with validation of migration success and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Oracle database migrations using RMAN, Data Pump, and Transportable Tablespaces
  • Administer mission-critical Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure environments
  • Implement and operate Oracle Data Guard including switchover, failover, and DR testing
  • Perform Linux administration and performance analysis using AWR/ADDM reports
  • Create migration runbooks, DR procedures, and support critical production windows
  • Validate migration success, data integrity, object consistency, and operational readiness

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience administering Oracle Database in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting
  • Proven hands-on experience executing Oracle migrations using RMAN, Data Pump, and Transportable Tablespaces
  • Experience with cross-platform, cross-version, homogeneous, and heterogeneous migrations
  • Strong experience implementing and administering Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure
  • Strong experience implementing and operating Oracle Data Guard including switchover, failover, and DR testing

The Role Job Description We are looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join Kyndryl's Applications, Data & AI (ADAI) practice, supporting critical database transformation, migration, high availability, and disaster recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience executing Oracle database migrations, administering mission-critical environments, and implementing resilient architectures based on Oracle RAC and Data Guard. This role requires direct involvement in migration execution, production cutovers, DR testing, troubleshooting, and operational support across complex enterprise environments. Who You Are Essential Qualifications 5+ years of experience administering Oracle Database in enterprise environments. Strong expertise in Oracle Database installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting. Proven hands-on experience executing Oracle migrations using RMAN, Data Pump, and Transportable Tablespaces. Experience with cross-platform, cross-version, homogeneous, and heterogeneous migrations. Strong experience implementing and administering Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure. Strong experience implementing and operating Oracle Data Guard, including Switchover, Failover, and DR testing. Advanced Linux administration skills. Experience with performance analysis, AWR/ADDM reports, and post-migration optimization. Strong Bash, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting skills. Experience validating migration success, data integrity, object consistency, permissions, and operational readiness. Experience creating migration runbooks, DR procedures, and supporting critical production windows. Preferred Skills Oracle GoldenGate. OCI, AWS, or Azure database environments. Oracle licensing knowledge. Experience in 24x7 critical environments. Oracle certifications (OCP, RAC, Data Guard, OCI).
