Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems for high-volume website scanning
- Automate browser interactions and distribute scanning tasks efficiently

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate scanning results into product features

Requirements
- Proven experience in building, operating, or scaling browser automation, crawlers, or scanners
- Expertise in distributed systems, queues, and orchestration for high-scale services
- Strong knowledge of HTTP/TLS/DNS, proxies, CDNs, WAFs, bot detection, and fingerprinting
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, TypeScript/Node.js, C++, or similar languages
- Experience with synthetic monitoring and scraping infrastructure
- Understanding of website performance optimization and security best practices

Lokker.com | Senior Backend Engineer, Scanning Infrastructure | REMOTE: North America / Europe, UTC-8 to UTC+2 | Full-time Lokker is a privacy platform that helps organizations understand and control what is happening across public-facing infrastructure: websites, browser-side applications, scripts, pixels, cookies, tags, forms, SDK/API calls, and browser-side data flows. We are hiring a senior backend engineer to own and continue to scale Lokker’s scanning infrastructure. This role focuses on backend systems for high-volume website scanning, browser automation, distributed scanning, networking, reliability, performance, and cost optimization. IMPORTANT: A key requirement for this role is substantial, hands-on production experience with browser automation, headless browsers, crawlers, scanners, synthetic monitoring, scraping infrastructure, or closely related technologies. This is not a general backend role, and we can only consider candidates who have already built, operated, or scaled systems in this domain. Other relevant experience includes distributed systems, queues/orchestration, high-scale backend services, HTTP/TLS/DNS, proxies, CDNs, WAFs, bot detection, and fingerprinting.
