Senior Backend Engineer - Platform Security - US
Build secure identity infrastructure for humans, machines, and AI agents
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Teleport, you will build and maintain the platform security systems that provide cryptographically secured identities for humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents. Your work will focus on improving engineering velocity while maintaining strong security boundaries in a remote-first, globally distributed environment. You will contribute to making trusted computing simple and scalable across infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems for cryptographic identity management
- Develop platform security features that secure access for humans, machines, and AI agents
- Improve engineering velocity by simplifying trusted computing workflows
- Collaborate in a remote-first, globally distributed team to ship infrastructure software
- Ensure security and scalability of identity infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience with focus on security or infrastructure systems
- Experience building distributed systems or platform services at scale
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, or similar systems programming languages
- Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, and cryptographic principles
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous, global team environment
