Research Associate (Tectonics - InVEST Component F)

Support tectonic research by processing geophysical data from Southeast Asian observation networks

The Research Associate will support the Earth Observatory of Singapore's tectonics research, specifically contributing to the InVEST Component F project. This involves working with geophysical observation data collected from a regional network of stations across Southeast Asia. The role focuses on data processing and analysis to support fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze geophysical data from regional observation stations in Southeast Asia

  • Collaborate with researchers on data interpretation related to earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis
  • Help prepare data outputs for scientific analysis and reporting within the InVEST Component F framework

Requirements

  • Experience with geophysical data processing and analysis
  • Familiarity with seismic, geodetic, or tsunami observation data formats
  • Knowledge of tectonic processes in Southeast Asia
  • Proficiency in scientific computing tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Ability to work with large environmental or geospatial datasets
  • Understanding of earthquake, volcanic, or tsunami hazard monitoring systems
