Principal Software Engineer (GTMO/Mesh)

It's a platform with a lot of moving parts, and a small engineering team that owns all of them.</p> <p>We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer who raises the bar on how we ship, not just what we ship.</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Owning features across the full stack — React frontends, backend APIs, cloud infrastructure — from design through production</li> <li>Responding to production incidents and shipping fixes</li> <li>Building and improving core platform capabilities: AI agents, orchestration workflows, microapp infrastructure, LLM integrations</li> <li>Developing SDKs and tooling for engineers who build on top of Mesh</li> <li>Championing quality and reliability — tests, coverage, habits that prevent regressions</li> <li>Collaborating across teams and supporting users directly through our Slack support channels</li> <li>Mentoring engineers through code reviews and technical guidance</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Mesh:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Small team, real impact — your contributions are visible and your opinions carry weight</li> <li>We use AI tools heavily in our own workflow — Claude Code, AI-assisted code review, LLM-powered automation</li> <li>Distributed systems, LLM reliability, workflow orchestration, real-time integrations — the problems are hard and varied</li> <li>We move fast and we're getting smarter about how we do it</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you'll bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering reliable, scalable systems</li> <li>Strong full-stack skills — React/TypeScript, backend services, cloud infrastructure</li> <li>Experience building in a cloud-native environment, preferably GCP — Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, managed databases</li> <li>Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases — Postgres, MongoDB, Redis</li> <li>Experience owning production systems — logs, incident triage, fixes under pressure</li> <li>A real commitment to software quality — testing strategy, code review, regression prevention</li> <li>Security awareness built into how you work</li> <li>You disagree and commit — push back when something is wrong, but don't relitigate once a decision is made</li> <li>Clear communication and experience in fast-moving, high-ownership environments</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with LLMs — Claude, GPT, Llama — and building applications on top of them</li> <li>Familiarity with context engineering and RAG patterns</li> <li>Experience with MCP or AI tool integrations</li> <li>Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration systems</li> <li>Experience with vector databases — Pinecone, pgvector, etc.</li> <li>Experience building developer-facing SDKs or platform tooling</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#LI-AR2</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#LI-Remote</span></p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, qualifications, skills, experience and/or training.
