About the Role The Engineering Lead to provides technical leadership for partner-facing systems, backend services, APIs, integration workflows, data exchange, access control, service reliability, and operational support capabilities. Guide API design, authentication, authorisation, versioning, data exchange, error handling, and integration standards. Assess technical risks across partner integrations, compliance obligations, service levels, and operational dependencies. Mentor engineers on backend quality, integration patterns, contract testing, performance, and production readiness. Coordinate with Product Managers, Architects, Security, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and partner-facing teams. Experience with production readiness, observability, monitoring, incident management, reliability engineering, service level management, and operational support models. Good understanding of data exchange, data quality, integration error handling, auditability, privacy, security, compliance, metadata, data mapping, and interoperability considerations. Ability to assess and govern technology partner integrations, including technical due diligence, integration readiness, security review, API compliance, testing evidence, and go-live acceptance criteria. Strong understanding of external integration security, including OAuth2/OIDC, API keys, secrets management, rate limiting, access control, audit logging, and secure data exchange with external parties. Working knowledge of digital delivery workflows, project lifecycle information exchange, progress tracking, reality capture, digital handover, and multi-stakeholder coordination across project ecosystems. Awareness of AI-enabled workflow automation, structured data capture, data readiness, and governance considerations for applying AI across partner-facing and operational workflows. Ability to lead technical discussions with architects, product managers, security, operations, vendors, and external partners. Strong coaching skills to guide engineers on engineering discipline, code quality, performance, resilience, delivery confidence, and technical decision-making. Strong platform product mindset with the ability to balance delivery speed, technical debt, maintainability, partner usability, adoption, operational feedback, and long-term platform sustainability.
