LIFE AT UIPATH The people at UiPath believe in the transformative power of automation to change how the world works. We’re committed to creating category-leading enterprise software that unleashes that power. To make that happen, we need people who are curious, self-propelled, generous, and genuine. People who love being part of a fast-moving, fast-thinking growth company. And people who care—about each other, about UiPath, and about our larger purpose. Could that be you? Your Mission At UiPath, we're redefining how enterprises automate work through AI-powered software. Automation Hub is a foundational product that helps organizations identify, prioritize, and scale automation opportunities across the business. We're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the next chapter of Automation Hub. This is not a traditional engineering management role. We're looking for a technical leader who still thinks like a builder—someone who has a track record of delivering world-class products, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and believes the best engineering leaders stay close to architecture, product decisions, customers, and engineering execution. You'll lead a talented frontend-focused engineering team while helping define the long-term technical vision, product strategy, and engineering culture for one of UiPath's flagship products. If you're energized by building products, mentoring exceptional engineers, and shaping how AI transforms enterprise software, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do Lead Engineering Strategy Own the engineering vision and execution for Automation Hub, balancing long-term architecture, customer needs, engineering excellence, and rapid product delivery. Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to define the future direction of the platform. Build Great Products Be deeply involved in shaping what gets built—not simply how it's implemented. Influence roadmap discussions, challenge assumptions, prototype ideas, and help the team deliver thoughtful, high-quality user experiences that solve real customer problems. Lead Through Technical Excellence Provide technical leadership through sound engineering judgment, architectural guidance, and mentorship. Stay close enough to the technology to review designs, unblock difficult engineering challenges, and help the team make pragmatic technical decisions. Develop High-Performing Teams Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering organization. Create an environment where engineers are empowered to do the best work of their careers while maintaining a high technical bar for quality, ownership, and execution. Champion AI-Native Engineering Lead the adoption of modern AI development practices across the team. Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve engineering velocity, product quality, experimentation, and developer productivity while fostering a culture of continuous learning. Deliver Exceptional User Experiences Champion engineering craftsmanship. Build products that are intuitive, performant, accessible, and delightful to use. Drive a culture that values thoughtful design, technical excellence, and attention to detail. Stay Close to Customers Partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand real-world problems. Use customer feedback to inform engineering priorities, improve product experiences, and shape future investments. What You'll Bring - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building large-scale SaaS products. - Experience leading engineering teams while maintaining strong technical credibility. - Proven experience delivering complex software products from concept through production. - Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, component architectures, state management, and modern web application development. - Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native development. - Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy through technical leadership. - Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, Design, and executive stakeholders. - Passion for modern software engineering practices, developer experience, and continuous improvement. - Curiosity and practical experience using AI to accelerate software development and improve engineering workflows. Preferred Qualifications - Experience leading engineering teams responsible for enterprise SaaS platforms. - Experience building customer-facing products with a strong emphasis on frontend architecture and user experience. - Experience scaling engineering organizations through periods of rapid product growth. - Familiarity with modern AI-assisted software development tools and workflows. - Experience working within highly collaborative product organizations where engineering helps shape product direction. In Your First Six Months, You Will - Build strong relationships with Engineering, Product, and Design partners. - Establish a clear technical vision for the Automation Hub platform. - Earn the trust of the engineering team through thoughtful technical leadership. - Raise the engineering bar through mentoring, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices. - Improve engineering velocity by expanding AI-native development practices. - Deliver meaningful customer-facing product enhancements that improve the Automation Hub experience. #LI-MH1 Maybe you don’t tick all the boxes above—but still think you’d be great for the job?
