About the Role Rain is hiring a Director of Financial Partnerships to lead and expand our strategic financial ecosystem partnerships globally. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing the partnerships that enable Rain’s products, expansion, and long-term growth. These relationships may include banks, financial institutions, payment processors, fiat on/off-ramp providers, treasury and liquidity providers, compliance infrastructure providers, fintech platforms, and other strategic financial ecosystem participants. You will own the strategy and execution behind some of Rain’s most important external relationships. This includes sourcing and evaluating new partnership opportunities, negotiating commercial and operational agreements, driving cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring partners are positioned to support Rain’s evolving business objectives. You will serve as the primary bridge between external partners and internal stakeholders across Product, Compliance, Legal, Operations, GTM, Risk, and Executive Leadership. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong relationship management, sound commercial judgment, and a deep understanding of how modern financial infrastructure is built and operated. As Director of Financial Partnerships, you will help shape Rain’s infrastructure strategy by identifying new capabilities, unlocking market expansion opportunities, improving economics, reducing operational dependencies, and strengthening the resilience of our partner ecosystem. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires equal comfort operating at both strategic and execution levels while managing complex initiatives across a rapidly evolving financial landscape. The Impact You Will Have - Define and execute Rain’s financial partnership strategy to support product expansion, geographic growth, and infrastructure resilience - Build and deepen executive-level relationships across financial institutions, fintech infrastructure providers, and strategic ecosystem partners - Identify, evaluate, and secure new partnerships that unlock product capabilities, regulatory coverage, market access, improved economics, or operational efficiencies - Lead complex cross-functional initiatives with partners from initial evaluation through implementation, launch, and ongoing optimization - Improve the scalability, reliability, and resilience of Rain’s financial infrastructure ecosystem - Serve as the internal owner and quarterback for Rain’s most strategic partner relationships - Drive commercial negotiations, partnership structuring, and long-term strategic agreements that create durable value for both Rain and its partners - Develop and maintain executive engagement strategies for key partners and stakeholders - Identify partnership risks, operational bottlenecks, and ecosystem dependencies while driving mitigation plans and contingency strategies - Help shape product and expansion strategies by bringing market intelligence, partner feedback, and ecosystem insights into internal planning processes - Position Rain as a preferred long-term partner within the global financial infrastructure ecosystem What We’re Looking For - 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, financial services, fintech, payments, banking, crypto, or financial infrastructure - Deep familiarity with modern financial ecosystems, including banking, payments, stablecoins, treasury operations, settlement infrastructure, compliance systems, and money movement - Demonstrated success building and managing strategic partnerships with financial institutions, infrastructure providers, fintechs, or technology platforms - Experience negotiating and managing complex commercial relationships involving legal, compliance, operational, technical, and executive stakeholders - Strong understanding of stablecoins, cross-border payments, financial infrastructure, and the evolving intersection of traditional finance and digital assets - Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives that require alignment across multiple internal and external stakeholders - Experience operating within regulated environments and working closely with compliance, legal, and risk teams - Ability to evaluate partnership opportunities through strategic, commercial, operational, and regulatory lenses - Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to drive initiatives from concept through execution - Executive presence and credibility when engaging senior leaders across financial institutions, fintechs, and infrastructure providers - Experience in senior roles at both large enterprises and startup or scale-up companies.
