Opportunity to lead and own an entire litigation practice area with significant autonomy Flexible work environment with options for hybrid, onsite, or fully remote arrangements Strong compensation package with performance-based bonus opportunities Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits Monthly travel and phone stipends Annual Bar dues, MCLE expenses, and life insurance covered by the firm Unlimited PTO policy with flexibility for work-life balance Collaborative and supportive environment with direct access to leadership Long-term growth opportunity with the ability to build and shape the future of the practice Job Details Job Duties Independently manage an active caseload from inception through resolution Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions Draft, review, and argue pleadings, motions, and discovery-related matters Conduct written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations Develop litigation strategy and assess liability and exposure throughout the life of a case Prepare matters for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial strategy development Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and other relevant parties Analyze case facts, damages, and legal issues to formulate recommendations and case strategy Negotiate settlements and assist with dispute resolution efforts Maintain organized case documentation and timely reporting requirements Partner closely with litigation support staff to ensure efficient case management Job Requirements Active California Bar license in good standing 1 to 3+ years of litigation defense experience, preferably within general liability and/or subrogation matters Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision Experience with MerusCase case management software preferred Interested in hearing more?
