Design and implement scalable data pipelines for ESCS reporting and analytics

Design, build, and operate trusted data pipelines and data services for ESCS reporting, integration, migration, and analytics. Ensure data is reliable, governed, secure, and available to authorized users and services. Support migration, reporting, and decision-making with reliable data engineering across source and target platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ingestion, transformation, validation, and publishing pipelines
  • Develop data models and contribute to warehouse, lakehouse, or platform design
  • Implement data quality controls, reconciliation, lineage, and metadata management
  • Support master and reference data management approaches
  • Plan and execute data migration, cleansing, and cutover activities
  • Monitor pipeline reliability, performance, and cost, and resolve operational issues

Requirements

  • SQL and data transformation using Python or equivalent data engineering language
  • ETL/ELT pipeline design and orchestration
  • Data modeling and warehousing/lakehouse concepts
  • Data quality, reconciliation, and observability implementation
  • Experience with cloud data services on Azure and/or AWS
  • Development and support of production data pipelines

The Data Engineer ensures that data is reliable, governed, secure and available to authorised users and services when needed. The role you will play: Create scalable data pipelines and models across ESCS source and target platforms. Build data quality, lineage, security and operational monitoring into delivery. Support migration, reporting and decision-making with reliable data engineering. Primary responsibilities: Design and implement ingestion, transformation, validation and publishing pipelines. Develop data models and contribute to warehouse, lakehouse or platform design. Implement data quality controls, reconciliation, lineage and metadata. Support master and reference data management approaches. Engineer secure access, retention and protection controls with relevant specialists. Plan and execute data migration, cleansing and cutover activities. Monitor pipeline reliability, performance and cost and resolve operational issues. Document data flows, mappings, rules, interfaces and support procedures. Required skills and capabilities: SQL and data transformation Python or equivalent data engineering language ETL/ELT pipeline design and orchestration Data modelling and warehousing/lakehouse concepts Data quality, reconciliation and observability Data governance, catalogue, metadata and lineage Master and reference data management awareness Data security and access control Data migration and mapping Cloud data services on Azure and/or AWS Required experience: Development and support of production data pipelines. Experience with structured data, integration patterns and data modelling. Experience implementing data quality and operational monitoring. Experience collaborating with analysts, architects, developers and business stakeholders. Desired experience: AWS Data Services, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Databricks Power BI data ecosystems. Enterprise SaaS data integration and migration.
