Original description from HN Who is Hiring

Proxybase | Backend Systems Engineer (Rust) | Remote (Global) | Full-Time | https://proxybase.xyz Hi HN, I’m the founder of Proxybase [0]. We’re building an agentic SOCKS5 proxy network designed to bring transparency and ethical sourcing to the residential proxy market. Quick note to anyone who applied last month: First off, thank you to everyone who reached out. We got hit with way more high-quality applications than expected, and between running day-to-day operations and working through the backlog, we took much longer to respond than we should have. If you applied last month and haven't heard back, we're genuinely sorry for the delay, we are actively reviewing those responses alongside this batch. Why Proxybase? Historically, the residential proxy industry has been pretty shady, think hidden background scrapers bundled into TV firmware or mobile apps, combined with predatory payout systems that hold provider funds hostage for months. We’re taking a different approach: Fully Open-Source Clients: Our GUI [1] and CLI [2] are completely open-source so anyone can inspect and audit what we run. Explicit Consent: Providers knowingly opt in. No stealth bundling. Instant, Fair Payouts: $1 minimum payout threshold sent directly to provider wallets via US stablecoins—no holding funds to farm interest. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a Backend Systems Engineer (Rust) to help us build out our asynchronous SOCKS5 routing infrastructure, daemon node orchestration, and automated bandwidth allocation pipelines. Stack: Rust (Tokio / Axum), SOCKS5 protocol, Linux systemd daemons, SQLite Location: Fully Remote (Async-friendly, flexible timezone) Compensation: Competitive salary + equity (USD or stablecoin options available) If you're interested in building infrastructure for an industry that desperately needs better standards, send an email to jobs@proxybase.xyz with your GitHub/resume and a short note on what you’ve been working on lately. I’m also around in the comments if you have any questions or feedback on what we're building.
