Every card authorization, clearing message, and settlement file flows through systems this team owns. The team manages both online and batch transaction flows across Mastercard, Visa, and Amex, along with transaction enrichment, disputes processing, and network compliance. The systems we maintain have strict latency and uptime requirements, because they sit on the critical path for every card transaction. The team also manages the physical network peering with card network partners, so infrastructure and networking expertise are important. The team primarily uses Java, Python, and Kotlin on AWS.</p> <h3><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Ensure high reliability, low latency, and correctness for Lithic's transaction processing interfaces and related services</li> <li>Develop new capabilities across authorization, clearing/settlement, disputes, and network integration surfaces</li> <li>Ensure that the team is delivering reliable, secure, and scalable code with minimal tech debt</li> <li>Evolve the infrastructure supporting physical network peering with card network partners, ensuring connectivity, failover, and capacity meet reliability requirements</li> <li>Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way</li> <li>Participate in the team on-call rotation</li> <li>Lead efforts to improve systems and processes both within the team and across engineering</li> <li>Help drive strategic planning in collaboration with the engineering manager and product manager</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What You Bring:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>8+ years experience shipping code in fast paced production environments</li> <li>Advanced distributed system instincts and design skills</li> <li>Experience driving large cross-functional projects across engineering, product, and operations teams</li> <li>A proven commitment to empathy and inclusion</li> <li>Excellent communication skills</li> <li>Growth mindset and continuous desire to learn and improve is a must</li> <li>An interest in fintech and the payments space is preferred</li> </ul> <p>The annual US salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000 plus equity. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Lithic and will be narrowed during the interview process based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a remote position.
