Senior Commercial Legal Counsel, APAC
Advise on commercial contracts and legal strategy for APAC region
Provide legal counsel on commercial agreements, partnerships, and transactions across the APAC region. Support business teams with contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment. Ensure compliance with local laws and GitLab’s global policies while enabling secure and efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts including SaaS, partnership, and licensing agreements
- Provide legal guidance on data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance in APAC jurisdictions
- Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to support go-to-market initiatives
- Identify and mitigate legal risks in cross-border transactions and business operations
- Maintain and update legal templates and playbooks for APAC-specific requirements
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with experience in commercial and technology contracts
- Knowledge of APAC regulatory environments including data protection and cybersecurity laws
- Experience advising B2B SaaS or technology companies
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills in English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, global team
