PayPal fees
PayPal fees are the charges PayPal deducts for receiving an international payment and converting it to rupiah, typically a percentage of the transaction plus a currency-conversion margin.
PayPal is widely accepted by international clients, which makes it convenient, but it is often one of the more expensive ways to receive freelance income: it charges a receiving fee on top of a conversion rate that is usually less favorable than the mid-market rate used by dedicated transfer platforms.
Because PayPal's fee schedule changes and varies by country and payment type, check PayPal's current fee page for your account before agreeing to be paid through it, and compare the amount you would actually receive against alternatives like Wise or Payoneer for the same payment.
