Contract vs permanent (PKWT vs PKWTT)
In short
A permanent job (PKWTT) has no end date and fuller protections; a contract job (PKWT) runs for a fixed term and ends on an agreed date unless renewed.
In Indonesia, PKWTT (permanent) employees can be placed on probation, accrue severance rights, and stay until they resign or are lawfully terminated. PKWT (fixed-term) employees work for a defined period or project, cannot be put on probation, and may be entitled to compensation when the term ends.
When comparing offers, weigh stability and benefits (usually stronger for permanent) against flexibility and often higher headline rates (common for contract or freelance).
