Short-Form Video Editor — Paid Social / Meta Ads (Contract) Olive Odyssey is a Palestinian single-estate olive oil brand. We work directly with farmers, press early-harvest oil the day it's picked, and ship it direct to people who care where their food comes from. Most of our growth comes from short-form video on Meta, and we're scaling that engine — which is where you come in. The role We're looking for a contract video editor who turns our briefs into high-performing short-form video ads. This is a pure editing role. You're not shooting and you're not building the funnel — you're taking a clear brief and a deep library of footage and cutting ads that convert. What you'll do Take a brief, plus access to our full Drive (existing footage, past ads, brand assets), and edit ad-ready short-form video for Meta (Reels, Feed, Stories) Deliver roughly 10–20 ads per month (around 4–5 per week) Cut for performance — hook, pacing, retention, captions, sound — not just for beauty Iterate quickly on feedback and on how the ads actually perform Work within our brand guardrails so every cut feels like Olive Odyssey How we work You won't be editing in a vacuum. You'll have direct access to our founders and creative lead, sit in on creative brainstorms, and run the full loop with us: concept → brief → edit → learn. We're in the process of bringing on a creative strategist who will eventually own briefing and direction. Until then, you'll go through that same process directly with the source — hearing the brainstorms and getting guidance from the founders and creative lead firsthand. When the strategist joins, they'll brief and direct you, but your role and the process won't change. Either way, you'll be unusually close to the story and the people behind it. Most editors never get that. Who you are You have real short-form paid social editing experience — ad edits that ran on Meta, not brand films, music videos, or weddings You understand what makes an ad work: a hook that lands in the first seconds, tight pacing, retention, clean captions, and sound that carries You work fast and accurately from a brief, and you iterate on feedback without ego You're reliable and communicative working remotely and async You use whatever tools you do your best work in — we care about the output, not the software A strong plus: familiarity with Palestinian or Arab culture and visual language, and Arabic fluency. Our story is specific, and someone who feels it will cut it better. What we're not We're a premium, story-led brand. No fake countdown timers, no hard-sell gimmicks, no generic discount-slop edits. We want someone whose instinct for performance comes with taste and restraint. How to apply Send us: A reel or links to short-form paid work, ideally DTC / ecommerce Any examples where you know the ad performed — and a line on why A sentence on what draws you to this brand Process: strong candidates will be invited to a small paid test project — two video ads built from a real brief, before we move into the full retainer. A reel shows us what you can make; the test shows us how you work with our material. The engagement: contract, remote, ongoing. A monthly retainer that covers your edits, revisions, meetings, and time in our brainstorms — so we can work closely together without counting every minute.
