About Unify Unify is building the first AI-powered system of action for revenue teams, helping companies transform outbound into a top-performing growth engine by making go-to-market execution observable, repeatable, and scalable. Founded in 2023 by leaders from Ramp and Scale AI, our team brings experience from companies like Airbnb, Meta, Waymo, Monday.com http://Monday.com, and more. Unify increased revenue by 8x in 2024 and serves customers including Perplexity, Cursor, SoFi, and Justworks. We’re a high energy, high intensity team that has raised $58M from Thrive, Emergence, OpenAI and others. We’re building the future of GTM - come join us! BUILD THE AI-NATIVE FINANCE FUNCTION FROM SCRATCH ABOUT THE ROLE We believe the Finance & Accounting function is being reinvented in front of our eyes. - New demands: rapidly scaling usage-based pricing, gross margin compression, PLG - New tooling: AI-native ERP, agentic collections, MCP access to financial systems - New roles: Accounting and FP&A are merging as both data systems and application layers are improving by leaps and bounds weekly and monthly We are hiring our first Controller, with the mandate to build the new model of Finance at Unify. You’ll partner directly with the CFO/COO and will have a front-row seat into how the business works, how to drive impact with financial reporting, and be held to a high bar of business understanding. You will own the full Finance infrastructure stack: GL, AR/AP, revenue recognition, payroll, billing, and financial reporting. This is a senior role in the Finance & Operations organization. WHAT YOU'LL DO Migrate to an AI-Native ERP You will lead our migration off Quickbooks and onto an AI-native ERP. This will be a great opportunity to audit our existing infrastructure, evaluate and rewrite core accounting policies and think through internal controls. You appreciate the magnitude of a successful migration: this creates the data foundation that will power the future of Finance at Unify. Achieve Zero-Day Close You understand that the relevance and impact of the finance team starts with speed to insight. Your north star is real-time financial visibility. You believe that with the right stack and the right processes, continuous close is achievable in the near term, and you want to prove it here. Drive Company Decisions with Reporting Build financial reporting at a company where Finance has a strong voice. Understand the importance that clean, timely financial data has for powering impactful reporting. Your work will directly influence how we allocate capital, evaluate bets, and communicate our trajectory. Lead Our First Audit You will own our inaugural US GAAP audit for FY2026 (ending January 2027) end-to-end — from auditor relationship to PBC list to timeline. You'll use it as a forcing function to build a close process so tight and automated that future audits feel like a formality. Manage Billing Operations You will manage billing operations today and work closely with the product team to ensure we are treating billing as a product that needs scaling, rather than a human process. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Active CPA license required. - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally starting at a Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm, with meaningful time in SaaS. - Passion for next-gen AI tooling in the Accounting and Finance space - Experience building finance infrastructure that scales with technology, not people - You've personally managed a US GAAP audit end-to-end — not just participated, but owned it. - You've led or played a central role in migrating off QuickBooks to a full ERP. THE BEST CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE - Experience with AI-native ERPs like Rillet, Campfire, etc. - Experience with usage-based or consumption billing models - Experience setting up Finance Data infrastructure (ex: structured financial data in warehouse, MCP access to financial tools) Additional Information Compensation & Benefits The expected salary range for this role is $200,000–$225,000, with eligibility for equity and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Final compensation is based on skills, experience, and role requirements. Compensation for candidates whose qualifications exceed the above criteria will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Location & Privacy This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco. By applying, you consent to the processing of your application materials in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.
