Original description from Contra
Introduction I’m hiring a freelance Brand & Social Launch Designer for Borne, a design-led specialty café opening soon in Davao, Philippines. There is already an existing logo direction, which can be reviewed and refined if needed. The main focus is building a stronger customer-facing brand identity and creating launch-ready materials for social media, marketing, menu, packaging, and signage. The current brand direction feels a little too reserved and conservative, so I’m looking for someone who can make the identity feel bolder, more fun, cooler, and more current while still feeling premium. Borne will focus on specialty coffee, high-grade matcha, premium chocolate, and warm hospitality in a refined space. Construction starts next week, so I need someone who can get started ASAP and help create enough launch-ready assets to start building buzz across social media. Responsibilities • Review the existing logo direction and brand references • Refine the logo direction only if needed • Develop a stronger visual direction for the customer-facing brand identity • Create social media templates for Instagram and Facebook • Design teaser posts, opening announcements, hiring posts, and launch graphics • Create menu layout direction and customer-facing menu assets • Design and develop packaging, along with signage direction where needed • Create designs for merch such as shirts, tote bags, cups, or other branded items • Help define a consistent visual style for pre-opening and launch content • Work quickly and collaboratively to meet a tight launch timeline Ideal fit • Strong taste in modern hospitality, café, food/beverage, or lifestyle branding • Able to create work that feels premium, distinctive, current, and visually confident • Comfortable refining an existing logo direction if needed • Good eye for typography, layout, colour, and social media systems • Can move fast while keeping the work polished • Comfortable with remote collaboration and clear communication Priority deliverables The first phase will likely focus on: • Social media visual direction • Teaser post templates • Hiring/announcement graphics • Launch countdown posts • Basic signage and packaging direction Please include relevant examples of brand rollout, social launch, café, restaurant, lifestyle, or food/beverage work. I’m especially interested in seeing projects that feel bold, modern, fun, and distinctive.
