Summary I am building a machine that can image and sort very very small that includes a bowl feeder, a couple drop shoots, an imaging station and a sorting mechanism. I was wondering if you would be interested! Mechanical Engineer Wanted, Full CAD + Engineering Drawings for Precision Benchtop Instrument We have a complete architectural spec, working prototypes of the concept, and parametric CAD as a starting reference, but we need a real mechanical engineer to design the production version from the ground up — to manufacturing-grade quality. The system includes: Custom-ground fused silica optical component Precision imaging chamber with multiple machine vision cameras + LED arrays Vibratory feeder for sub-millimeter parts Stepper-driven rotation stage with integrated load cell Binary servo-driven cascade sorting mechanism Aluminum extrusion + acrylic enclosure Electronics integration: Jetson Orin Nano, Teensy 4.1, NEMA 17 stepper, SG90 servos, HX711 load cell Deliverables: Complete CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or your preferred professional CAD — not Python/CadQuery) Full STEP and STL exports of every part and assembly Production-ready 2D engineering drawings for every custom part (proper views, dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, surface finish, title blocks) Bill of materials with part numbers, suppliers, and material specs Assembly drawings with exploded views and assembly sequence DFM-optimized design suitable for low-volume production (1-10 units initially, scaling to 100s) NDA required before any technical details shared Budget: open, please propose your hourly rate and total project estimate Very very tight project timeline for first steps
