Overview: We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer based in the United States to join our team at Concept. This position focuses on new product design and development, requiring proficiency in Solidworks and familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as (but not limited to) Injection Molding, CNC machining, Additive Manufacturing, Casting, Forming, etc. The role is on-going, as it is our desire to build long-term relationships with vetted designers. Selection for projects requires a commitment to confidentiality and intellectual property agreements. Individual projects will be presented to selected individuals with budgets, timelines, Industrial design sketches, renders, etc. and paired with the ideal team member. The project presented here involves designing & engineering a series of plastic components based off preliminary design sketches & renders. The components are to be designed in a way to be effectively prototyped using 3D printing, Vacuum Casting, or similar methods while retaining primary features acceptable for production via Injection molding. Parts must be optimized for assembly. Responsibilities: Design and develop new products using Solidworks. Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, assembly, and additive manufacturing. Conduct simulations and analyses to ensure design & manufacturing feasibility and performance. Ensure compliance with non-disclosure agreements and maintain the confidentiality of all work completed. Transfer all design and intellectual property rights to the company. Expectations: Highly Proficient in Solidworks CAD Design: Design portfolio or Solidworks certifications to show CAD proficiency. Ability to meet ASME Y14.5 or ISO GD&T standards with clear tolerances and manufacturability are desired (Not required, if willing to learn the standard) Follow U.S.-based direction precisely: Execute tasks based on provided inputs, feedback, and design intent with minimal interpretation errors; maintain alignment with project goals and revision instructions. Maintain consistent communication: Provide regular updates, respond within 24 hours, and flag risks or questions early to avoid delays or rework. An ability to attend virtual meetings for design reviews is a must. Adhere to strict IP and data security requirements: Do not share, reuse, or upload any project data to external systems (including AI tools); all work remains confidential and owned by Concept. Ensure reliability and scalability: Be available for ongoing work, handle fluctuating workloads, meet deadlines consistently, and maintain quality across multiple concurrent tasks.
