Location: Remote Employment Type: Freelance / Part-Time (~15–20 hours/week) About the Company At Guard, we set out to solve a problem many face: blackout blinds that don't truly block out all light. Even a sliver of light seeping through can disrupt rest, and traditional curtains and standard blinds were never designed to stop it. So we built something different: custom blackout blinds with a track and frame system that seals the entire window perimeter for complete darkness. That mission has resonated. Through creator partnerships alone, we've generated over 1 billion organic views across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, primarily in the US market. We're currently at an $18M revenue run rate, and our creator program is a core driver of that growth. Today, we work with 50+ active creators producing short-form content every month. Our growth engine is strong, but our owned social presence doesn't match the brand we've built. We have 80K followers on Instagram and 1M on Facebook, and both channels are underutilized. We're looking for someone to transform our social feeds into a premium, curated brand experience that reflects the quality of our product and resonates with our US audience. About the Role As our Social Media Manager, you will own the look, feel, and voice of Guard's social channels. This is not a performance marketing role. It's a brand-building role. You'll be responsible for turning our Instagram and Facebook presence from a content dumping ground into a cohesive, visually premium feed that a US homeowner would be proud to follow. Think Eight Sleep, Brooklinen, or Parachute Home. Clean, aspirational, lifestyle-driven, with a clear visual identity and a consistent posting cadence. That's the standard we're aiming for. What You'll Do Own the content calendar and posting cadence across Instagram and Facebook (3–5 curated posts per week plus stories) Develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity across our grid, ensuring every post fits the brand aesthetic Write captions that feel natural to a US audience (American homeowners, men & women 35–55, interested in sleep, home improvement, and wellness) Source, edit, and produce visual content: product photography, lifestyle imagery, branded graphics, customer testimonials, and occasional reposted creator content, properly formatted for the feed Plan the grid layout, ensuring posts work together as a cohesive whole, not just individually Manage community engagement: respond to comments and DMs in a timely, on-brand way Repurpose existing assets (product photos, creator content, customer reviews) into feed-ready posts when new photography isn't available Stay ahead of platform trends and bring ideas for new content formats, story series, and engagement tactics What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience managing social media for a DTC, ecommerce, or lifestyle brand, with a portfolio of feeds you've built or managed Strong visual eye: you understand grid planning, color consistency, and what makes a premium brand feed work Native or near-native English writing skills, specifically for a US audience. If your captions read like they were translated, this isn't the right fit Proficiency in Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite for creating branded graphics and editing photos Understanding of Instagram and Facebook as brand channels, not just performance channels Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision once brand guidelines are established Bonus: experience with scheduling tools (Later, Planoly, Hootsuite, or similar) Bonus: basic photo editing and retouching skills What We Offer Freelance engagement at 15–20 hours per week with potential to grow into a larger role as the brand scales Competitive freelance rate Full creative ownership of Guard's social presence Access to professional product photography, 3D renders, and a library of creator content to work with A fast-growing brand with real momentum and a product people genuinely love How to Apply Send us your portfolio with at least two examples of brand feeds you've managed. Tell us what the strategy was behind the grid, not just that it looks nice. Include a brief note on what you'd do differently with Guard's current Instagram feed.
