Project Overview We’re looking for a freelance short-form video editor to help turn raw footage into strong, social-native Reels/TikTok content for a Gen Z / student audience. This role is primarily focused on editing, not filming or full-scale content strategy. We will provide raw footage, scripts, references, and direction. The editor’s job is to turn that material into clean, engaging short-form videos with strong hooks, captions, pacing, and a native social feel. We’ll likely begin with a small paid test or sample edit, then move into an ongoing relationship if the fit is strong. Expected Scope Ongoing target: approximately 8–10 reels per month Budget target: approximately $400–$500/month We are open to slightly lower monthly volume if needed to match budget and maintain quality Initial onboarding may include a small first batch or paid test edit before we lock into a monthly workflow What We Need Editing short-form vertical video for Instagram Reels / TikTok Working from event footage, talking-head clips, b-roll, and prewritten scripts Native-feeling pacing, hook-first edits, readable captions, and clean CTA structure Ability to make imperfect/raw footage feel engaging and current Organized workflow using Google Drive and simple feedback loops Ideal Fit You understand short-form social content and Gen Z-friendly pacing You know how to make edits feel natural, current, and not overly corporate You’re comfortable working within a modest monthly budget You communicate clearly and can turn projects around reliably Nice to Have Experience editing recruiting, lifestyle, community, UGC, or student-facing content Ability to create alternate hooks / first 3-second cutdowns when helpful Important We are not looking for highly cinematic brand-commercial work. We are looking for a sharp editor who understands social-first content that actually feels native to the platform.
