We're — Canada's largest immigration resource, operated by Cohen Immigration Law (founded 1976). We're expanding our editorial output and looking for several skilled long-form writers to join our team for an initial 6-week engagement, with potential to continue. What you'd be writing Long-form articles (1,500–3,000 words) on Canadian citizenship, immigration, and policy topics. Sample topics include: Citizenship eligibility scenarios Process guides (documents, timelines, application paths) Historical and legal context pieces Geographic / community-specific angles What we're looking for Strong long-form writing skills with samples to prove it Ability to research and synthesize legal/regulatory topics into plain English Comfort with structured editorial briefs Reliability: you can ship 2,500-word pieces against a deadline Bonus (not required): background in immigration law, paralegal work, legal journalism What this isn't AI tools are fine for research, outlining, and editing assistance. But every article must be substantially human-written, with original analysis (you should be able to defend the work). AI-drafted content with light edits rarely clears Google's E-E-A-T bar (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). And even when they do, they don't meet ours. Not a copywriting-for-conversion role. We need editorial-quality reporting and explanation, not landing-page copy. Logistics Volume: Approximately 8–12 articles per writer over the engagement Start date: Within 2-3 days of hire (sooner the better) Workflow: Brief delivered → first draft in 2–3 days → editorial review → revisions → legal review → publish How to apply Send: Two writing samples (long-form, ideally in a regulated field, or technical topics) One paragraph on your relevant background Your availability over the next 6-7 weeks Your charges We'll respond within 24-48 hours. Strong fits will receive a short paid trial assignment before a longer engagement.
